Four Clover schools, including three elementary schools and one middle school, will have new principals next school year.
Each school in the Clover School District has selected its 2012-2013 Teacher of the Year. The 10 educators, who have a combined 98 years of teaching experience in Clover and 159 years in education overall, will be recognized at a banquet on May 8 at The Palisades Country Club.
Clover native Rob Wallace has been selected by the Clover School District Board of Trustees to fill the unexpired term of the late Barbara Parrish, a seat that represents an area of the district south of Highway 49 and along the Highway 274 corridor.
The South Carolina Department of Education announced today that 8 Clover schools were among 662 schools and career centers statewide to be awarded a Palmetto Gold and/or Silver Award for the 2012-2013 school year for general performance, closing the achievement gap, or in both categories.
Clover High School’s wonderfully talented choral program has done it again by winning the South Carolina State Choral Festival this past weekend. The Choraliers have now taken top honors in 9 out of the last 11 years, including four consecutive championships, in the S.C. Music Educator’s Association event.

Two teams from Clover captured the top spots in the area of research at the South Carolina FIRST LEGO League State Championship at White Knoll High School Saturday, February 23. Bethany and Bethel Elementary Schools were competing against 78 other teams for top honors.

Tri-District Adult Education has been delivering the WorkKeys program to inmates at the Moss Justice Detention Center for the past six school years. “WorkKeys,” a computer–based certification program covering three academic areas: Applied Math, Locating Information, and Reading For Information. As more employers require WorkKeys certification for “new hires,” it is well worth the time and effort involved to secure the WorkKeys certificate.
